January 2009

For many people January is a rather grim affair but I have to say at Betty Bee it always feels full of promise as we meet lots of couples who have got engaged over the Christmas period and are at that wonderfully exciting stage of booking venues, doing cake tasting and of course meeting photographers. The excitement is contagious. We were also able to continue indulging our love of winter weddings with some fantastic twinkly events including the wedding of Suzanne and Mike who tied the knot at The Grange. Suzanne got ready at a beautiful B & B hotel called Merebrook. Its the first time we had worked there but it is just lovely, a proper country house but on a tiny scale. Perfect for wedding preperations. We were really lucky for this booking as the weather was sunny and frosty and when we took Suzanne and Mike off to have some photos taken at the beautiful pond at the Grange the birds were skating on the iced over water and the winter light was that brillant crisp diamond quality that is always a gift to a photographer.

Speaking of the wonder of fresh starts I also had a wonderful studio session last week with the most good natured baby I have ever met. I have met little Nathan Rea once before but he was in his mum Francesca's tummy as she had some beautiful baby bump photos taken just before his arrival. Nathan is only four months old and was so jolly and scrumptious.

Who says January is depressing?!
