Betty Bee wins silver!

February has been a great month here at Betty Bee Towers. We kicked off the month by being graded with silvers on a number of images we submitted to the Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (SWPP for short) this is a europe wide monthly competition and is a great way to improve your work and get feedback from other very talented photographic folk. Here is one of the images.

This months portrait highlight

We had a lovely studio session with the Stockton Murray family this month. they are all very photogenic (which of course makes our job so much easier) and also lovely people which made the session great fun. The kids were full of beans and so good. Little Ebony has a condition called Goldenhar syndrome which I had never heard of, Goldenhar Syndrome is an 'umbrella' term for a wide range of bone abnormalities affecting the face and sometimes the vertebrae. For more information check out the facebook page "Goldenhar Syndrome" needless to say Ebony was an absolute dollychops and we were all a little bit smitten by the end of the session and blown away by how fantastic and capable her mum was especially as she has two other little ones. Through our work with other parents doing family portraits and as parents ourselves  we know its so important  to get beautiful pictures of children which reflect the love felt by their parents and this seems to be even more the case with parents of children with physical or mental disabilities. We always try and make it a really positive experince for all concerned. All children are special but for those who perhaps have it  a little bit tougher than others its even more important that they are made to feel special.

Wedding Of the Month-Louise & Juen

Talking of lovely famlies we photographed a beautiful wedding reception at the end of February. The couple Louise and Juen had already got married abroad in a romantic beach ceromony but wanted to have an evening to celebrate their news with friends and family. The reception took place at the Village Hotel in Bromborough and they transformed one of the rooms there with candles, and vases of feathers and sequins it was absoloutley beautiful. As well as taking shots of the entire evening we also took some great photographs of the lovely couple. We even decorated the little area outside that is used for most of the photographs (so if you saw a girl in a 1950s dress draping fairy lights and candles around an arch in the cold and dark a few weeks ago that was me) Louise and Juen loved it and it made a perfect end to the photographs especially when we gave them sparklers!
