Children & Family Portraits
At Betty Bee our style is fresh, natural and fun. We know that family life is informal, chaotic and full of wonderful imperfections and we take images which reflect that. If the weathers against us we have a small home studio full of toys, music and even a kitten! for bright zingy photos or if the sun is shining we love nothing more than to take a trip to the beach, your garden, even tree climbing in Caldy wood. Photos of kids should be bursting with energy in the same way they are and family portraits should be full of laughter not fixed grins.
Baby Photography
Is there anything more beautiful than a baby? Here at Betty Bee we don't think so. There is something so joyful about baby photography and the look you get on a small tots face when they are held against mums shoulder is just photographic heaven. As parents to a little one ourselves we are very comfortable working with small children and endeavour to create a soothing restful enviroment to put both baby and parents at their ease.Our home studio is cosy with gentle nursery rhyme music playing and a large collection of rattles and toys to keep them wide eyed and happy for the duration of the session. We also understand that with a baby timing is everything which is why when you ring to book your session we plan with you to find a time when they have had a feed and a nap. We also work quickly so we dont wear the little one out.
Single Portrait Session -£50
The Betty Bee Portrait package includes one photo session an A4 print and 4 mini prints of your choice. This package can be used for family groups, babies and children. If you would like to order extra prints after your session then we offer a very resonable print service and can also put your images onto canvas.
General Information about the photographic sessions
Where do they take place? Betty Bee can take photos of you and your family at any location of your choice.
At your home This is a popular choice and works very well when photographing small children as they tend to feel more comfortable in familiar surroundings. Upon arrival we will decide which space is best to use. We bring a variety of props and would recommend that you also supply some of your children’s favorite toys. We will discuss which mood you are trying to capture and will also supply our own ideas but, in general, we like to capture each family member in as natural way as possible, laughing, talking or playing.
At our studio If you prefer a more formal setting, Betty Bee has a lovely home studio which is available for all family portraits. We have plenty of props and simple backdrops so can always offer you the visual style you prefer.
On location With a little forward planning we can also arrange to photograph you and your family on location, whether at the beach, in a garden or a place of sentimental importance. Please note the cost of the shoot will slightly increase if we have to pay a location fee. We will endeavor to find locations which will incur no further cost but unfortunately this is not always possible.
What to wear A few points to bear in mind when choosing what you are going to wear.
- Strong colours work well - blue, whites, reds, orangesand pinks are all good. Pastel colours including duck egg blue and mint green are also great to photograph
- Lots of different patterns can be overwhelming, particularly in group shots.
- Branded clothes do tend to date a photograph and can look busy.
How long will the session take? As parents to a two-year-old we understand that babies and children don’t stick to a timetable, so we go with the flow. We are very flexible and can work around you and your children to help you get the very best shots. Sessions usually last around thirty minuites.
When will my photos be ready? Your preview shots will be ready for viewing within five working days. Once you have made your selection it will be no more than three working days until you receive your finished prints.
